BMW X1 sales drop 39 percent in 2019 in America

Its generally known that U.S. consumer base is shifting to crossover SUVS, but that certainly does not hold true for BMW X1 that suffered from an almighty drop of 39 percent in 2019 in U.S. market.

First unveiled in Paris Motor Show in 2008, BMW X1 enjoyed solid sales growth trajectory, but in 2019 it witnessed a never seen before decline of 39 percent when it only sold 17,815 vehicles as compared to 29,060 vehicles in 2018. This sharp fall in the midst of crossover SUV craze does not make sense. Maybe this vehicle does not satisfy the customer’s expectation of crossovers, as its one of the smallest compact crossover luxury SUV in the market with a hefty starting price of $35,200.

BMW X1 fared significantly better in the Canadian market as it only saw a drop of 17 percent.

BMW X1 Sports Activity Vehicle starts at $35,200 for its sDrive28i trim featuring a 2.0-Liter TwinPower Turbo inline 4-cylinder and is front-wheel drive. If you want an all wheel drive version then you can opt for the option of xDrive28i which has a starting price of $37,200 and same V4 engine.
