BMW donates 50 thousand masks to Italian hospitals

BMW has chosen the following institutions as recipients of its support: San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, Ana Field Hospital in Bergamo, Spedali Civili in Brescia, National Institute of Infectious Diseases Lazzaro Spallanzani in Rome. The twelve dealers involved will supply the main hospitals in their areas of expertise.

We need everyone’s help to overcome this pandemic. And in this perspective it is really nice to be able to tell the various solidarity initiatives of the leading companies in the automotive world. The one we are talking about today bears the signature of BMW Italy.


BMW ITALY TO HELP DOCTORS ENGAGE IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CORONAVIRUS
Good news in the fight against coronavirus. BMW will donate 50 thousand masks to the health personnel of some hospitals in Italy thanks to the partnership of 12 Official Network Dealers who have decided to donate the amount deriving from an internal contest to this important initiative. The initiative was promoted by the BMW Group Italy, together with 12 dealers: Autoclub (Modena), Autoeur (Florence), Autovanti (Monza), B iauto (Turin), Birindelli (Vinci), Emmeauto (Taranto), Maldarizzi (Bari ), M. Car (Caserta), Nanni Nember(Brescia), Sarma (Saronno), Tullo Pezzo (Mantua) and Ultramotor (Matera). These dealers have decided to donate entirely the amount deriving from an internal contest (which had seen them win an award for the performances achieved in 2019).

“BMW Group Italy has always been engaged in corporate social responsibility activities with a rich and articulated program that we have confirmed entirely also for 2020 because we believe that these values ​​are even more important and essential both in the emergency that we are experiencing in this period that in the next phase,” said Massimiliano Di Silvestre, President and CEO of BMW Italy. “And to give a further sign in this direction, we have decided, together with all the Group companies and some dealers in our network, to make a contribution to the medical and paramedical staff who in recent weeks has been doing an extraordinary job in saving human lives, often jeopardizing one’s own. We will distribute over 50 thousand masks in 16 hospitals located both in the areas most affected by Covid-19, primarily Lombardy, and in those areas belonging to our dealers who have enthusiastically accepted the idea of ​​converting an incentive program linked to performance of 2019 in a gesture of attention towards those who are in the front line.”
