Audi Q3 sales decline by 12 percent in 2019 to 14,822 vehicles

Audi is strongly pushing its crossover SUVs in the American market, but its entry level crossover Q3 sales dropped by 12 percent in 2019. Though, its performance is significantly better than its immediate rival the BMW X1, that suffered from a gargantuan drop of 39 percent in sales.

Audi Q3 with a price tag of $34,700 is a subcompact luxury crossover SUV made by Audi, a subsidiary of Volkswagen group. Its production first started in 2011 with 4-cylinder 2.0 TDI engine that outputs 201 hp and 295 pound feet of torque. Its growth was nothing but spectacular from its inception until 2017 when its sales formed a peak, but endured a drop in the following two years.

Comparatively, the sales were stable in Canada where 3,734 vehicles rolled off the showroom floors, a negligible drop of 1.22 percent.

Despite slowdown, Audi is persistent on expanding its lineup as a new Q3 Sportback that appears similar to a coupe has been released in 2020.
