The alternator also kicks on (in my opinion) too often. Some background on this... it’s only when in park and at idle. An example would be; I am in park and idling and roll my window up, I can feel the alternator engage immediately and the car RPMs drop. The car will shake a little like it’s about to die. Then the alternator will cut off and it will go back to normal.

It really doesn’t impact anything, but it seems to point to something going bad and I want to replace it before it just stops working. I haven’t been able to really get an answer yet. I am open to all advice, thank you in advance.

It happens both when the A/C compressor is on or off. It also happens sometimes when I put it in park and the alternator is still running.

Maybe the bearings are going bad/pully is locking up?

I’ve considered that, however wouldn’t it do the same thing in all gears and not just park if that’s the case?

Didn't say it happened in all gears:/. It could be a wiring issue idk.

I’ve checked everything I could think of thus far. I’m starting to wonder if it’s a computer issue. Like it’s not compensating for the added drag on the engine. It’s already idling at around 550RPM. Adding drag could drop it low enough to start choking it out if the engine doesn’t rev slightly to compensate.

I've thought about tuning the engine to idle slightly higher and see if that fixes it. Maybe around 700RPM.

Perform this test under the hood with a digital multimeter to check the major electrical connections. You can continue test 5 with a long test lead to the underdash fuse box, several fuses. There have been corrosion issues with some underdash fuse boxes with splash off wet shoes/boots.
