Car: 2009 Dodge Charger police base

So in a little bit of a pickle. When I’m driving during the day my right brake light is out. When I turn the lights on during the night my Left taillight is out but the brake light works Right taillight works but brake light doesn’t.

Turn on the parking lamps... Walk around and see what works.. And what does not..

Then with the parking lamps on.. Turn on the hazards with the parking lamps..

If you have bulbs that go medium to bright.. You are ok.. If you find one or more that go medium to out.. Medium to out.. You have found a bad ground.. Either between the bulb base and the socket.. Between the socket and the wiring harness... Between the wiring harness and the body ground..

Since you neglected to post.. Year, make, model.. Almost all cars are wired in a similar fashion..

If you had a mid 80s Jaguar.. I would be having you do something completely different.

Are they regular bulbs or LED lights? Lots of cars use dual filament bulbs. Meaning the bulb has one filament for the tail light and another, separate filament for the brake light, in the same bulb. If you haven’t tried just putting new bulbs in then you need to start there.

Well after some closer analysis the pins in the harness backed out so just soldered some new ones. Works now.
