I currently have code p0201 on my 2001 Cherokee. Noid light is not firing on the first injector but resistance is within normal limits so at this point I'm thinking its the injector driver in the PCM is bad. My question is do I need to replace the PCM with the exact same P/N and alpha-numeric code or will any 97-01 PCM work once it's flashed? My PCM now is PN 56041 and the code is 801AD. Thanks in advance everyone.

Before I'd replace the PCM, I'd swap the fuel injector to a different cylinder to see if the problem follows. I know the resistance is within tolerance, but there could be a physical problem that's not allowing it to open.

As for the new PCM, folks that you can buy from that indicate you can give them your VIN and they'll program it for you - no extra programming required.

I would disconnect the NEGATIVE BATTERY First.. so many Chrysler computers have had the smoke let out by disconnecting the positive first or hooking up the positive last.. i would have thought that they could have figured out how to prevent that damage but they keep selling computers and making more money that way..

Dive into the wiring diagrams..

Ohm from the computer connector to the injector..

You are more than likely to have a bad wire.. Chrysler uses tiny wires that like to break deep in the harness..
