The AC system on my 2009 suburban throw cold air while moving but when stopped, the air becomes less and less cold, even warm.

Verify the engine fan turns on when you turn the AC on.

The AC on those also just doesn't work as well at idle. It may be normal to a certain extent.

I wonder if your engine cooling fan isn’t coming on when the AC is turned on. When moving air is flowing through the condenser so your AC is functioning properly, but when stopped there’s no airflow? Something to check.

There is airflow when stopped the temp drops to out side temp.

The AC temp? Or the engine temp gauge goes down?

I think just the ac temp.

So when you switch your AC on, the engine cooling fan on the radiator should come on to help airflow through the radiator and AC condenser when the vehicle is not moving. If it does not come on, then the lack of airflow through the condenser will hurt the performance of the AC, making the air inside the truck warmer and closer to outside temp. Can you let the vehicle idle, turn the AC on and see if the fan is spinning? Possibly turn it on and off and see if the fan responds.

Weird I had to go for a late drive and the AC worked even at idle.

What you can do is check if the cabin air filter is not clogged (yes there is air going out but take a look anyway) and check if the condenser at the front of the car is clean.

If both of these think are ok and still not work take it to a shop. Don't put canned "refrigerant" in it and DON'T PUT SEALANT IN. Doing AC work isn't something that is DYI friendly.
