Hello, so my car was unfortunately backed into by a vehicle without a plate and drove off afterwards yesterday. Only reason I know is because two bystanders told me about it. I Was mad, but looking at the damage all I saw was a scuff mark and a scratch. Like the minorest of minorest damage. Not even a dent. Just some hazing of the paint an a scratch. So, easy fix in my mind would be to just pull the rear bumper off and replace it when I get the cash and time or paint over the scratch and scuffed area.

Started driving home and coming down slight declines and hills I always have the tendency to turn on my O/D because it slows the car down gradually quicker without braking. So I figure I'm saving on my brakes by not using them. It's not insane on the motor either. Jumps from a 1k rpm cruising to a 1.5k rpm when it's turned on and slowing itself down. Anyways, when I did this yesterday it was a single click or knock sound when I turned it on. So I turned it back off an it was a single click or knock sound when it was turned off. Doesn't keep making the sound, like a constant knock or click. Just when it's activated and deactivated. Got home. Parked the car.

Turned the O/D on while in gear and no click. Let the car roll just pulling itself down my road and turned it off an on, no click again. Get up to maybe 35/40mph an activate it then it clicks once Thinking something more than my rear bumper may have been damaged or knocked loose in some way when they backed into it. The sudden jolt could've knocked something loose or outta align causing the hard knock? Unsure what to look for with O/D to be honest.
