This morning is was turning onto a local highway, and a car was coming, so I had to get on the throttle a little. My 2010 Camry Hybrid gave me about 2 seconds of normal throttle, and then I lost all power. I pulled off to the side, put it in park, waited a minute, and then it worked normally after that. I had no engine code or abnormal pressure or temp readings. It almost seemed it cut out when the engine switched from electric to gas. Any thoughts on the problem?

Did you get any message on the instrument cluster? How did you check for codes? If it is a problem in the Hybrid system you may not be able read the code with a generic scan tool. Take it to your local Toyota dealer and ask them to perform a Health Check with a Techstream and provide you with a printout. If you have any codes then PM me and I can help you out from there.

Isn't that the year of Toyotas that had the throttle issue that killed people?

It ended up being largely debunked as driver error with stacked floor mats.

I'm genuinely curious as too how someone would think stacked floor mats are a good idea
