Hello I own a 2018 Fiat 500 Abarth with 27,000 miles. Since shortly after I got the car I have noticed a slight whine that increases pitch with rising RPMs. I can only hear it in 2nd and 3rd gear, but it seems to be intermittent. I usually only hear it after the car has been driven for awhile. At first I didn't think much of it, but after my last oil change I noticed what looked to be dried oil where the transmission and engine meet. It isn't very much and there is nothing leaking on the ground.

This week I took the car to one of the last dealerships that does warranty work on Fiats in my area and was basically told it is most likely a wear item like the throw out bearing or clutch that's the problem, but they wouldn't be able to actually look at the car until June 1st due to coronavirus. I got the feeling that might be wrong since the car has low miles and I really don't drive it hard at all. Maybe they were trying to avoid warranty work I'm not sure.

Right now I'm at a bit of a loss on what to do. I ordered some Mopar gear oil for my transmission in hopes that maybe it just needs to be changed. Even though the owners manual says lifetime fluid most people on the 500 forums seem to change gear oil every 40,000 miles. Also there is no CEL. Any advice would be greatly appreciate.
