Smell and exhaust gases inside cabin of Honda Civic?

I wanted to ask if this problem occurs more often.

I noticed that when the heating / ventilation is switched on I get the exhaust gases of my car or the car in front of me. Is this normal or has a filter been forgotten?

I've never had this problem with any other car.

Honda only uses simple paper filters, but there are better filters you can order online that take odors away.

I've had the problem lately that it's more often inside smells like exhaust fumes. I only notice this for the last 2-3 thousand km. You don't notice anything during the country road trip, but in city traffic, especially in stop and go, clearly. Or like today after turning off of the car. When I got back in after about 5 minutes and only that ventilation / ignition turned on, smell of exhaust gas came through the ventilation. After driving home in the garage, I opened the hood, and there I also noticed this smell, which then through the ventilation is sucked in. Do I have a leak in the exhaust line? Has anyone ever experienced something like this?
