I have a problem with my right signal as it keeps flashing at a quick speed, and I can't determine the problem. All of the light bulbs are working properly, both sides have the same type bulbs, and everything is connected properly. When I use the emergency lights, both sides flash at the same normal speed. It's almost time for me to take my truck to get an inspection. The truck is a 2004 Silverado 1500. I would take it to an electrician, but the ones nearby are closed.

There is a bulb somewhere burned out. Check along the side and top of cab.

Flasher relay may be going out which means not enough voltage, or a problem with ground connection. Or a bulb is out or going bad.

One of the bulbs has to be the wrong resistance. Try replacing the bulbs anyway.

Like replace all of them?

And I mean replace the two right side bulbs. They’re cheap and easy on that truck.

I'm very tight on money at the moment and I'm trying to save money for the inspection and renewal fee. I hope the bulb aren't that expensive, but a police ticket would be worse.

Bulbs are $4 for a pack of 2.

Turn the parking lights on. Walk around the truck and see if they are all the same brightness.

While the parking brakes are on. Turn on the hazard flashers. Walk around again. And see which lamps are not working normally.

If you have any bulbs that go dark instead of medium to bright, medium to bright.

Gm trucks have issues with the tail lamp circuit boards. The bulb sockets loose pressure with the bulb bases. Then it can't illuminate the bulb. Causing the flasher to flash fast.

Gm trucks also have a connection under the left rear of the bed.

I had a similar problem a while back on my Durango. Make absolutely certain every bulb is the CORRECT bulb for your car, since each type of bulb has different resistance values and can cause this problem on some vehicles. Also, prob goes without saying, but verify there's good contact and no corrosion on the connectors. I had to correct both of these "issues" before they would work properly on mine.
