Lights have been coming on in my Honda Accord

P780 code, and evap code P0457. The question here is in regards to the D4 light flashing and TCS light staying on. This happened this morning. I do know that this car wasn’t exactly given the attention it needed, so I’m hoping the transmission fluid is simply low. I’ll check it when I get home. Sometimes I do have a hard shift but I’ve learn to keep this to a minimum by accelerating slowly when possible. Overall I love the car and would like it to last 5 more years minimum. Are there any tests I can do?

P780 code, and evap code P0457. Transmission fluid at good level and clean.

Blinking D4 light means transmission codes. Get them (and any other codes) pulled by a shop and post them here. Or grab a quality Bluetooth based OBDII scan tool such as BlueDriver:
https://www.bluedriver.com/products/bluedriver-scan-tool
Which can read and talk to all modules of a vehicle as well as display live data.

Also ensure you use nothing but Honda/Acura/Aisin ATF DW-1 in your transmission or Honda CVT/Aisin HCV if it is a CVT model.

On Hondas, a blinking D4 light almost always means there is a pressure switch in the transmission that has gone bad. You'll have either 2 or 3 on yours (can't remember on that model), but it will probably be either 2nd gear or 3rd gear pressure switch. They are very simple to replace as they just screw into the side of the transmission, and typically the part itself costs under $100 even from the dealer. Sorta related - If you haven't done it recently, get a fluid change while you're at it just for the car's health. Those transmissions get finicky after 200k

Also, TCS is Traction Control System. That's probably a separate issue altogether and you'll need to have someone hook up a scan tool to find out your problem.

What is the evap code and can your scanner read the TCS codes? We need as much information as possible to help you.

Scanner can not read TCS codes. I have another scanner that may read it but I don’t have access to it at the moment. Evap code is p0457
