Can someone tell me if and how the inputs and exhaust valves on the Fiat 500 1.2 (312) 69PS, Bj. 2009 can be set. When I had to remove the valve cover I perplexed to find that this engine has no rocker arms on which you can make settings. The camshaft sits almost directly on the cylinder head.

The camshaft does not have to go out of course, rocker arms have been out of date for decades?

The “modern” setting of the valve clearance is based on a FIAT patent - strictly speaking on Lampredi, the designer of the ingenious “bialbero” engine. After the patent expired, everyone did it that way.

There are hold-downs that are clamped between the plunger and the NW, then you take out the plates and insert the appropriate ones.
