Should I spend more money to get the premium sound, or is standard sound sufficient? I don't want a super system, just good quality.

It's pretty disappointing. I have a dodge ram with the stock Alpine system and it is leaps and bounds better than our Rav with the JBL system.

For half the cost you could probably have a much better aftermarket system installed professionally.

I have a 2017 Rav4 platinum, and JBL is not a big deal, I think it could way better for the price of the car.

Not sure if it changed in 2019, but my 2017 JBL system isn’t the greatest. It’s definitely not the best sounding “premium” audio. The stereo in my wife’s Subaru almost sounds better, and it isn’t even the upgraded Harmon system!

I'm pretty satisfied with the sound from my standard system. IMO, the reasons to get the premium system are: bigger display - both on the console and in the instrument cluster, remote start capability, additional telematics (tire pressure readings, etc.). You miss these with the standard infotainment system.

If you're wanting a good quality sound system get the basic audio and have a shop put in something aftermarket. No factory audio system sounds that great.

The JBL sound system is pretty good. But I'm a little disappointed at the road noise. I think in the Premium models they could have added more sound absorbent insulation or active noise reduction technology (Mercedes has had that tech for decades).

If you hate the road noise, get your cars into anti rust treatment. Itll reduce also a notable amount of road noise. Also while changing the speakers sound deadening mats help a little but its more about the sound.
