Can you operate VW Golf 8 climate via voice control?

Question

I got the Golf 8 today.

When I try to change the temperature using the voice control, the car tells me that it is not possible. Does anyone have any idea why? Is this feature not available or does it require setting something up first?

If the Golf 8 has not been activated by WeConnect, the "better" voice control will not work. We tried it in our showroom. After WeConnect activation, the temperature increased by half a degree using the same wording as from the very beginning.

I’ve activated WeConnect and still getting error saying ‘air conditioning functions cannot be operated by voice control’!!

Did you manage to resolve this problem? It seems that the golf life doesn't come with this function, which seems a bit unfair to me

Same issue here. Been back to dealership who allegedly run a software update but the issue still remains.  WeConnect is activated

I have the same problem on a late 2020 Golf R-Line.  From what I've googled it appears it may not work on single zone climate control systems !!   Not sure if that's right though.
