I'm working on replacing my seat covers. I had to remove the front seat backrest trim panel. The instructions in the workshop manual are

- Remove rear access knob and escutcheon.

- With a small flat bladed screwdriver, ease open the knob stem to clear the seat lever tang and remove the knob

- Carefully ease knob escutcheon from two studs.

- Slacken and remove two screws.

I removed the knob, and got stuck at "carefully ease knob escutcheon from two studs", because to my limited brain power that was as clear as mud. After trying to carefully ease escutcheon from two studs for well over a hour, I did what any impatient person would do, I forced my way in and jumped to step 3 hoping I'd get a closer look on the inside once the panel is out to see how it may work.

Unfortunately even with the panel out, I'm stumped. I took a couple of pictures happy to provide more was curious if anyone any direct me.

Both pictures attached
