air starts off hot until i push buttons then air gets cool...why

when i turn on air in ford escape it sometimes blows hot, after i push buttons here and there then cool air kicks in,,,why  i took to ford garage but told can't do anything until it stops working, why is it i can't get problem gets worse

First check if the compressor is running under the hood when the AC is blowing hot air. If its not running, then the problem could be due to bad AC relay, bad AC clutch, bad climate control module or bad compressor.

If the compressor is running and AC is blowing hot, then it could be due to faulty blend door actuator. The blend door actuator is responsible for controlling the flow of air between the heater core and the air conditioning evaporator.
