I am new here and have a question about my BMW 1 Series 118d.

Last year I bought this used with a mileage of 143000 km. At that time there were 4 Zeetex HP 2000 vfm summer tires with the dimension 225/50 R17 93 W extra load on them. Already there I noticed how spongy and bad the driving behavior is. The track was set and the tire pressure changed. With that, I was able to make up for it halfway.

Then came the winter tires Bridgestone Potenz with the dimensions 195/55 R16 87 H and BMW Stern. With these tires everything was great, great driving experience and nothing to complain about.

Four weeks ago I put the summer tires back on. 2 of the Zeetex had to be exchanged, so that I now drive on the rear axle with 2 new Dunlop Bluresponse and in the front with 2 Zeetex tires. Dimensions are the same with 205/50 R17 93 W extra load. The driving feeling is really shitty and spongy again. I have tried all print versions, nothing gets better.

In the front I have the feeling that the tires are hopping a bit and when changing lanes or moving the steering wheel quickly, the rear is very restless.

Anyone have any idea what else I can do to get this grip on summer tires under control?

Thank you in advance for your advice.

First you write 225/50 R17, this size is not allowed for your 1 Series, then you write 205/50 R17, what now?

With probably a lot of worn VA tires and brand new HA tires, it is normal that the driving behavior is quite modest.

The Zeetex HP 2000 is not exactly one of the recommended tires.

My recommendation would also be to mount the Dunlops on the VA.

Of course you are right. Are of course 205 ... Was a typo with the 225.

Well the profile on the VA is still quite new. So I wanted to try two new ones first.

In any case, thank you in advance for the quick response and for recommending the exchange at the VA. Then I would do it best with hope for improvement.

It is rare that two different tire brands on VA and HA give good driving behavior.

Each tire brand has a different driving behavior. In addition, the Zeetex HP 2000 is a bad tire with a very long braking distance.
