my check engine light comes on, it says it is the manifold running board senor where is it located

it it a 2012 kia Sorento i can take my gas cap off after multiple times the check engine light will go off but come back on after 10 or so miles

Never heard of manifold running board sensor. I think you may be referring to MAP sensor (manifold absolute pressure sensor). Its past the throttle body.
