2016 Ford Fusion does not support Apple CarPlay. There is no software update that will let you use Apple CarPlay in your Fusion. The only option is to upgrade to SYNC 3 infotainment system. A good quality aftermarket SYNC 3 kit for Ford Fusion costs about $1,500 plus labor.
