Must my Android phone be plugged in the whole trip for Waze on RAV4

My Toyota RAV4 2020 model got all my apps. Must I keep my Android phone plugged in the whole time while using Waze?

Yes, it needs to be plugged in all the time if you want to use Waze through Android Auto. RAV4 currently does not feature wireless Android Auto. As far as I know, only Supra has wireless Android Auto under Toyota's lineup at this time.
