I have the following problem with my Kia AWD: when starting there was a loud bang at the rear. I stopped and looked, but couldn't find anything, no oil on the street, everything was where it should be. When driving there are no noises or error messages.

My question to you, has anyone ever had the same problem.

Drive now only takes place via the front axle. Maybe the differential or the rear clutch unit is defective?

As I see it, it is the transfer case in front. Happens when something is approached more quickly. Can be determined relatively easily by turning the PTO shaft by hand with the engine switched off.

Is a known problem with Kia. At least for some models Sportage and Sorento it is in the system.

In terms of price, the whole thing is +/- $2000 depending on the damage, although this is normally a warranty case if still present.

I'll try that, but I have to say that I got it changed about a year ago, after which the 7 year guarantee had expired. But the bang came from behind.

Only changed the oil on the differential in the summer.
