Hey

I have a question about burnouts with manual transmission:

There is a technique where u put the car in reverse and Roll back, and then put it in 1st or 2nd and dump the clutch. Is this technique putting more wear and tear on the car instead of doing it the “normal” way, depending on fwd or rwd and so on? Why some people do it in 2nd?

Burnout itself puts more strain on the transmission and is a recipe for failed clutch if done repeatedly. So doing a rollback burnout is most definitely putting more wear.

Most people who do rollback burnouts do it because their vehicle is underpowered. If your vehicle is underpowered for a burnout, then doing rollback burnout on it repeatedly will kill the clutch.
