I had the engine repaired a good two years ago (05-2018) and in this connection the complete clutch with DMF and master cylinder.

Today I wanted to drive a little after a long time on the highway, but the only thing that happened was the speed went up and it smelled extremely.

I have now parked my car and did not continue driving. The question now is, what can you do best?

Maybe any expert know about this, is there a manufacturing number on the couplings?

It is the 2.0TFSI

Do you mainly drive long or short distances? So you have a lot or less of a clutch insert?

In the case of short journeys, wear could already be the cause. From long-term experience, there are other causes of clutch slipping on long-haul routes.

I haven't even covered 15,000 km in 2 years. Ride a lot of bikes and a good mix of the two. But mostly long distances since I live in the city anyway.

The clutch on my A4 also slipped at some point, but not always, only sporadically. And the brake grinded again and again, even though brake calipers were new. That's when I first suspected a connection.

When looking at the clutch master cylinder (on the pedal), moisture in the form of brake fluid was discovered. So it was obvious that the cause should be sought here and not on the clutch itself. Both systems (brake and clutch) are actuated via brake fluid.

I then had the master brake cylinder and the brake servo replaced, because you couldn't say exactly what it was now and I wanted rest and no further intervention with loss of time.

Since changing the two components, the clutch has not slipped for several 10TKM and the brake no longer applies by itself.

Maybe you can have a go there.

Does your vehicle have an increase in performance that you or the previous owner may have made without your knowledge? You do not fully depress the clutch pedal when shifting. You may already switch before the clutch has not completely disconnected. In leaky simmering which caused some oil to get on the clutch. There can be so many causes.
