I have a 2000 Honda Accord EX and I have been having an issue where in the summer during the day it just won’t start. When I wait until night when it’s cooler it usually starts fine. What is causing this?? I have had multiple people look at my car and suggest maybe bad alternator, starter, or fuel pump, but no one can tell me exactly what’s wrong and I don’t want to waste money on something it doesn’t need. HELP!!

Hmm, yea sounds like fuel pump, do you hear any buzzing when u put the key to ON position? Try opening the fuel cap and tell someone to put it to ON but not START and see if you can hear any squeak, buzz or static If not, then its the pump Try this, Idk if it might work or not but try switching it to ON position leave it for like 3 secs turn it off and do it again like 3 or 4 times and try starting it.

When it won't start (I assume it cranks but doesn't start) try spraying some brake cleaner or starting fluid into the intake (after the air filter).

If it immediately starts, you've got a fuel problem needs fixed.

If it doesn't your problem is (most likely) in the ignition system.
