Ford Edge costs $29,000, but in Europe it starts at 45,000 euros

Ford Focus is available at a cheap price, for 15,000 US dollars - with style package.

Why aren't cars so cheap in Europe?

Not just Ford.

In the USA you can also get a VW Passat for the money for which you only get a 1.4L Golf without any extra in Germany. The US Passat is even longer and wider than the EU version, has a really durable 5-cylinder engine (in Europe only vulnerable TFSi machines) and some equipment that is subject to a surcharge in Germany.

And yet the Passat is not a best seller in the USA. Toyota Camry, Chevrolet Impala, Ford Taurus are much more reliable, better equipped, a bit cheaper and have less or slower depreciation.

This is due to two things. Firstly, Ford comes from the USA and it shouldn't be surprising that they are cheaper there than in Europe, and secondly you have to consider that the prices in the USA always do not include sales tax.
