For about 2 months I have had the problem that my Android Auto reacts to the magic words "OK Google", but everything that is said afterwards is completely ignored. After a while, where the Google assistant waits for a voice input, it stops without any error message.

Everything worked great before and then there was an update. Since then, I can only speak to the Google Assistant if he speaks to me first (e.g. if he reads a Whatsapp message, I can then reply).

I rule out a microphone defect, otherwise the assistant would not react at all. Maybe you have ideas.

Oh yes. I'm currently using a OnePlus 7Pro with the latest Android Auto update (but it's not the new design yet).

I then have the mobile phone connected to my Pioneer SPH-DA230DAB via USB cable, which also has the latest firmware on it

So I fixed the issue. It was the microphone that wasn't properly plugged in anymore.  I can explain why "OK Google" still worked:  The smartphone started the assistant when you said "OK Google" and you couldn't do anything else because the microphone was not plugged in.
