My Corolla takes too long to idle after revving

Revvs stay up too long when accelerator is released. When engine is revved up it takes too long to come down again, awkward when changing gears.

1. Check the floor mat urgently.
2. Grease the throttle cable! And check whether the throttle valve is stuck. You can have it checked quickly at the workshop. Will cost you little.

Mostly only the throttle cable has become a bit stiff and the problem should be solved quickly with a little grease.

The culprit could be the throttle valve! It may need cleaning or in rare cases, replacing.
