Does the Acura RLX have Android Auto?

The Acura RLX is a luxurious sport sedan that was first introduced in 2013 as a replacement for the Acura RL and remained in production until 2020. Despite its high-end features and advanced technology, the RLX does not come equipped with support for Android Auto, a feature that allows drivers to seamlessly integrate their Android smartphones into their vehicle’s infotainment system.

Many modern vehicles are equipped with either Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, which allow drivers to connect their smartphones to the car’s infotainment system, giving them access to a variety of apps, maps, and media directly from the dashboard. Apple CarPlay was introduced in 2014 and Android Auto followed a year later, in 2015. Since then, these systems have become increasingly popular, as more and more people rely on their smartphones for navigation, communication, and entertainment.

The Acura RLX, however, does not come with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay compatibility. This means that drivers who want to use their smartphones with the car’s infotainment system must turn to aftermarket solutions. There are several aftermarket multimedia systems available that can be installed in the Acura RLX, but these systems often require a significant investment, and they may not be as integrated or user-friendly as the built-in systems offered by other automakers.

While the lack of Android Auto support may be disappointing to some Acura RLX owners, it’s worth noting that the car’s infotainment system is still advanced and feature-rich. The RLX comes with an On Demand Multi-Use Display (ODMD) 2.0, which provides access to a variety of functions, including navigation, climate control, audio, and more. The system also includes a variety of safety features, such as a rearview camera, blind spot information, and more.

Despite the lack of Android Auto, the Acura RLX remains a popular choice for luxury car shoppers, thanks to its spacious and comfortable interior, advanced technology, and impressive performance. The car is available with a range of powerful engines, including a 3.5-liter V6 and a hybrid powertrain that delivers excellent fuel efficiency.

In conclusion, the Acura RLX does not come with Android Auto compatibility, which means that drivers who want to use their Android smartphones with the car’s infotainment system must turn to aftermarket solutions. While this may be disappointing to some, the RLX’s infotainment system is still advanced and feature-rich, and the car remains a popular choice for luxury car shoppers.
